Eel Farming in Japan: Past and Present [JP]

Lecture Description

During the last decade, science of Unagi has rapidly developed, while at the same time worldwide population of Unagi has seriously declined. Japanese eel (Anguilla japonica ) added to IUCN "red list" of endangered species in 2014. Why did it happen? How can we recover Unagi resources? Can we continue to eat Unagi?  In this Symposium, panelists present their ideas and discuss how humans and Unagi live together.
